Arrival & Welcome 

As we wait for all of our friends to arrive, there will be a few play items available such as magnatiles, puzzles or playdough.

Circle Time

This is when we will sing our welcome song, sing the days of the week, review letters, shapes and numbers. 

Academic Time

We will move to our learning tables where we will work on identifying and writing the letters in our name, counting and writing numbers, or learning the letter for the day. For the 4 year olds, toward the end of the year, a few beginning sight words will also be introduced.

Free Play

Play is an important part of preschool. This is when we use our imagination and develop skills such as friendship, sharing, taking turns, and communicating with other children. A variety of toys will be available to the students including cars, animals, blocks, play kitchen, dolls etc.

Snack

A store bought snack will be brought and shared by the Student of the Week. 

Wiggle Songs

We will come back to the rug and sing several interactive movement songs such as The Goldfish Song, Shake Your Sillies Out, and Shakey Eggs!

Show & Tell

Each week a new student will be chosen as the Student of the Week. During show & tell, the student will get to tell us something about their family, their favorite things/activities etc and on the last day of the week, they will bring a show and tell item to share with the class.

Theme Circle & Story Time 

This is when we learn about our subject for the week. Some examples are animals, dinosaurs, or Miss Tiffany's personal favorite: Dr. Seuss week. Story Time is also a personal favorite. Each day we will read a book that coordinates with our theme.

Crafts

Everyday the students will create something they can bring home to share with their families. Our craft will align with the theme for the week. We will use many different mediums: markers, paint, beads, playdough, dry noodles etc.

Closing Activity 

When the weather is nice, we will head outside to the backyard. Students will have options like chalk, bubbles, ride on toys, web swing, and the in ground trampoline. Occasionally we will learn about different sports and the fundamentals on how to play them. 

Pick Up

If we are outside, parents can meet us at the side gate to pick up their children. If we are inside, I will unlock the front door when everyone is ready to be dismissed. Students will be dismissed one at a time as their parents come to the front door.
